Aniseed oil has a spicy-sweet aroma because of its high anethole content. Aniseed essential oil has antiseptic, antispasmodic, carminative, diuretic, and expectorant properties. Additionally, Aniseed oil is reputed to control lice and itch mite. Aniseed essential oil is extremely potent and should not to be used on sensitive skin. Avoid using Aniseed oil during pregnancy. Product Abstract: Aniseed essential oil is the fruit of the annual anise plant of the parsley family (Umbelliferae). It grows up to 60cm in height with leaves varying in shape from heart-shaped to feathery. The fruits are covered with short hairs and each contains two dark seeds with light ribs.
Cautions: Dilute pure Aniseed oil before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.
